Diablo 2: Resurrected: Result of the survey

There is hardly any other remaster that was stretched as Diablo 2: Resurrected. The new edition makes Blizzard s cult game finally fit for a new generation: with chic 3D graphics, Gamepad support and a few nice comfort features you can clearly get the best version of Diablo 2 - on all platforms. However, while some fans cheer, other buyers show themselves disappointed by the revealed classic. One is the Remaster straight right, the others are simply not far enough. That s why we have started a small survey shortly after release, in which we wanted to know about you, as you think about the new edition. More than 2,400 people have participated and betrayed what they like at the game what they criticize and what they want for the future of Diablo 2: Resurrected. Here s the results!

Question 1: Where will you play Diablo 2: Resurrected?

Little surprising: most of our readers play Diablo 2 on the PC. Source: PC Games First, we wanted to know, of course, whether and on which platform your gambling is. More than 70 percent called the PC, which is no wonder given our name, but the PC players finally make up a large part of our readership. Nevertheless, almost ten percent have given the PS5 as a platform of their choice, the rest is distributed to the other consoles. Only about 7 percent also say that they do not want to play it, that is: Most participants also had really desire for the game at the time of the survey.

Question 2: Did you play the original Diablo 2?

Most of the survey participants are well known with Diablo 2. Source: PC Games Even after your previous knowledge, we asked the result: almost 60 percent of the participants have already played the original Diablo 2 up and down. Another 30 percent indicate that they have played Diablo 2, but not as intense as a hardcore player. Only short 10 percent of respondents do not know the original at all, that is: With ResurRected Experience Diablo 2 for the very first time.

Question 3: What innovations do you like best?

New 3D graphics, comfort improvements and the booty box are your clear favorites. Source: PC Games Now it s all about: We wanted to know about you what innovations you liked in the Remaster (multiple answers possible). With around 80 percent, the completely new 3D graphic is clearly on the first place, the modern graphics upgrade is thus very good at most of you. We also like that you can switch to the original 2D graphics at any time. In direct comparison, you notice only how carefully the style of the original is captured. More than half of all respondents also find the comfort improvements particularly important, including, for example, the automatic gold collecting or the item comparison in the inventory. Such little upgrades clearly evaluate the dusted feel. Even the few comfort improvements significantly evaluate the feeling. Source: PC Games

On the third place follows the much larger booty box that offers much more storage space for collected treasures. Especially nice: The box can also be used for the first time as shared stash for all characters of an account. This makes the cumbersome mule characters from earlier finally superfluous. 40 percent of you also praise the intermediate sequences, which were rendered from the ground up, but in content but 1: 1 reflect the original. The sound and the voice output were also taken over almost unchanged from the original game.

A good quarter of the respondents also emphasize the new Gamepad control, which ensures a much more gratifying feel. Similarly high in the course is also the new detail view for the passive character values, which finally delivers significantly more information about your character.

Question 4: What disturbs you most in Diablo 2: Resurrected?

The small inventory has been offering shared opinions for 20 years. Source: PC Games In the criticisms, the result is significantly further. Of course, the inventory, which feels around 40 percent of you feel too small. As 21 years ago, it also applies to the Remaster: You often have to travel to the city by Town Portal to sell his stuff, which always interrupts the game flow.

37 percent also disturb that you can not stack runes and gemstones, which slows a lot of space in the booty box and also makes crafting via Horadrim cube unnecessarily awkward. 32 percent are annoyed that you can not use the new skill strip with mouse and keyboard. An absolutely understandable criticism we have already expressed several times. The new skill strip represents a clear added value for Gamepad players, even alone because they may use talents without annoying throughout. Another view of question 4, this time with different numbers per answer. Source: PC Games more than a quarter criticized that Rune words and other content from the endgame basically not explained. About 23 percent also criticize the bag system, which also has to do in the Remaster without a Loot filter. Also in criticism: the shared prey in multiplayer, to which each present player has access. One fifth of all respondents bothers old, non-fixed bugs and misses new content such as additional monsters, items or quests. In fact, fresh content is not in resur ratred, you really get the old, almost unchanged Diablo 2. However, Blizzard has announced the new edition exactly so; So you knew what to get involved. Despite larger booty box, many of you want to be stackable runes and gems. Source: PC Games

Question 5: Your wish list - What should Blizzard change or improve in the future?

Your wish list is long. At the top of the list: stackable runes and gems. Source: PC Games In our penultimate question, you may wish something: In which scores does Blizzard have to change or improve the game in the future? The unambiguous answer: almost 52 percent wish stackable runes and gemstones. No wonder, especially with the Gamepad, the constant moving and sorting the stones a real patience sample. 37 percent would also like that in multiplayer s own personalized prey, which can snap away from a nobody before the nose. Whether this feature ever comes, however, is questionable because it would have immediate impact on trade and the game economy. (On the other hand, the unsafe item trade in which items are sold to usury prices, Blizzard has always been a mandrel in mind.)

06:14 Diablo 2: RESURRECTED: PC vs. Nintendo Switch

A game glossary for Rune words desire 36 percent of you. Just like the earlier, it is relying on forums and fans, if you want to use ripenewords effectively. Similarly many survey participants, a skill strip for the mouse keyboard control on the PC. We assume that Blizzard will patch the function in the foreseeable future, because actually nothing speaks at all. On the other hand, it looks very different with its own inventory for charms, so an extra storage space for the whole spells, who clogged your backpack over time. Almost a third of you, it wants it, but that Blizzard stops remember here, we are unlikely, as it would mean a deeper procedure in balancing.

A quarter of the respondents respond to a revision (or a deletion) of the unnamed endurance mechanism, which is particularly at lower levels for annoying breasts. After all, with more vitality, the Stamina value increases, after a while, endurance is always in the background. Also for the Respeccen , ie the distributing of attribute and skill points, many participants want a better explanation in the game. What is not mentioned at all: there is also the possibility to produce special items by Horadrim Cube, which allow a complete REFEPEC. However, you still have to summarize the details on the Internet.

The remaining wishes like cross-play, better balancing or additional crafting recipes land on less than 20 percent. When the ability to enter your own request, multiple couch-Coop, a larger inventory and ultraWide support were called. But we find the last point particularly interesting: only 5 percent stated that Blizzard should not change anything at all. That is, only a very small part of the respondents holds Diablo 2: Resurrected for Perfect; Almost all others want more changes and improvements.

Question 6: How would you rate the game?

And with that we come to the last question that turns to your rating: we wanted to know how many stars would give their new edition, on a scale of one to ten. The result: about 16 percent of you would award solid 7 stars, 26 percent tuned for 8 stars. 18 percent would even be the 9 portions and a tenth of a tenth should have sheer out the highest classification. The rest of the respondents is for six stars or less. This results in the end of 7.0, so a smooth 70s rating for the Remaster. Surprisingly little, considering what significant the game has to today with its community. Nearly 2,500 players have matched: this is your average rating for Diablo 2: Resurrected. Source: PC Games Reminder: Almost 60 percent of the survey participants have indicated that they had played Diablo 2 intensively. So there are a lot of fans. Nevertheless, in the Remaster, some wishes to stay open, especially often comfort improvements are called inventory and prey - so changes that would undoubtedly go at the expense of the old feel. Exactly such adjustments had categorically excluded Blizzard. A mistake?

Conclusion

At the same time, the survey also shows that Diablo 2: Resurrected, despite everything, has become a good Remaster, which makes a lot of real. Although the gameplay may not be entirely foolish, but that after 21 years, it is still so much fun and so much emotions causes, actually underlines only what an exception game Diablo 2 has always been - and probably always will be. Now the time will show if Blizzard is still screwing on a few game elements and installing more comfort, or if you just leave the game as it is - even if the end means that Diablo 2: Resurrected soon only from The injured fans is played, which already held the original loyalty. Whether you can talk about a success, is on another leaf.

Are you agreeing with the result of this survey? What did you surprise, where would you have tuned differently? Write us your opinion in the comments!
